Public Safety

The overall safety and security for town citizens and visitors (from youth through senior) is very important. It is the town's goal to empower citizens with the tools, information and technology to reduce the impact of emergency and disaster situations; and creating a safe environment to improve the quality of life for all. We rely on you, the residents of this town, to do your part. You CAN make a difference in your community!

The Town of North Beach is patrolled and serviced by Twin Beaches Patrol, who are deputies from Calvert County assigned specifically to North Beach & Chesapeake Beach. The deputies cannot be everywhere at one time, and that is where we, the residents come in. It is up to each of us to do our part to continue to keep North Beach the great town that it is. We do this by getting to know our neighbors and looking out for each other and the town. We are neighbors looking out for neighbors.

“If you see something, say something”.

Not sure when to call, or if you should call at all, take a look at the informational documents. It has many hints & tips to keep you, your property, and the town safe.

If you’d prefer to talk in person, you are encouraged to attend the monthly Town Council meeting, held the 2nd Thursday of each month, 7 pm, at the Town Hall. You can share during public comment, or talk one on one with a Twin Beaches officer.  They are always in attendance.

Emergency Notifications

In the case of an emergency, notifications will be made to help residents prepare for and deal with the emergency. Notifications will be made via email blasts and updates will be posted on the town website. Please pass any information on to neighbors that do not have access to a computer and/or the internet.

Also, there are warning lights located in the cupola on top of Town Hall that will be used in some emergencies. When the amber light on the left is lit, it indicates there is a missing child or senior citizen. When the blue light on the right is lit, residents should take caution for hazards such as flooding, earthquake, etc. As always, you may call Town Hall at 301.855.6681 or 410.257.9618 if you have questions or need additional information.
