Sewer and Water Department

The Town of North Beach maintains its own wastewater collection and water distribution system. All houses and buildings in the town are served by both systems. Wastewater is collected in the town sewer system and is then discharged to the wastewater plant at Chesapeake Beach where it is treated before being discharged to the Chesapeake Bay. Potable water for the town is supplied by two deep wells and stored in the ¼ million gallon elevated storage tank near 11th Street. All water supplied to town customers is metered. The water supply is treated with chlorine as required by the State Health Codes. There is no other treatment except an agent used to reduce the iron problem (see information on brown water). The town water supply is adequate to provide fire protection through the system of fire hydrants that are located throughout town. The town has some capacity in its water and sewer system to serve undeveloped lots in the town.

Are you a new North Beach resident?

If you are purchasing a home in the Town of North Beach, be sure your title company has provided your information to the town when they complete a Final Water Reading Request Form. This will ensure that your information is placed on the water and sewer account for your new property.

If you are a new renter in the Town of North Beach, the water and sewer bill will be sent to the owner of the property unless the owner agrees for the account to be placed in the renter's name. The owner may request to change the water and sewer account to the renter's name by contact the Billing Department.
