Town of North Beach Boards, Commissions and Volunteer Committees
The Town of North Beach has established numerous Boards, Commissions and Volunteer Committees which are staffed by elected officials, town employees and volunteer citizens. Serving on Boards, Commissions and Volunteer Committees allows members of the community to partner with elected officials and town staff to share expertise, assist in the resolution of conflicts and to advise the Mayor and Town Council.
A liaison is assigned to each Board, Commission and Volunteer Committee and serves as a bridge between staff and governance, advises the chair and committee members, and assists the committee by providing strategic advice and facilitating communications, actions, and cooperation.
Boards & Commissions
- North Beach Planning Commission: Appointment of five members to serve on the Commission for 5-year terms. Appointments to the Commission are made on the recommendation of the Mayor. Town Council approves the appointment. The Commission meets on the 4th Thursday of each month. The Town Clerk is responsible for agendas and minutes. Staff Liaison - Rick Crump, Zoning Administrator
- North Beach Board of Appeals: Appointment of five members to serve on the Board for 3-year terms. Appointments to the Board are made on the recommendation of the Mayor with approval from the Town Council. The Board meets on an as-needed basis. The Town Clerk is responsible for agendas and minutes. Staff Liaison – Rick Crump, Zoning Administrator
- North Beach Ethics Commission: Appointment of three members to serve on the Commission. Appointments to the Commission are made on the recommendation of the Mayor with approval from the Town Council. Meetings are called on an as-needed basis. - North Beach Board of Elections: Appointment of three members with two alternates to serve on the Board. Appointments to the Board must be made the April prior to an election. The Town Clerk is responsible for all agendas, minutes, and organization of the election. Staff Liaison – Stacy Milor, Town Clerk
- North Beach Tree Committee: Appointment of three members to serve on the Committee with 1-year staggering terms. Appointments to the Board are made on the recommendation of the Mayor with approval from the Town Council. The Committee meets quarterly. The Committee is responsible for appointing its own secretary to produce agendas and minutes. All agendas and minutes are to be emailed to Stacy Milor, Town Clerk for posting to the North Beach Website. Staff Liaison – Lisa Garrett
Volunteer Committees
- North Beach Flood Committee: This is an advisory committee for North Beach. The committee does not have a limited number of participants. The committee meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 3 pm via ZOOM. The Committee is responsible for appointing its own secretary to produce agendas and minutes. All agendas and minutes are to be emailed to Stacy Milor, Town Clerk for posting to the North Beach website. Staff Liaison – Donnie Bowen. Council Liaison – Lauren Kabler
- North Beach Environmental Committee: This is an advisory committee for North Beach. The committee does not have a limited number of participants. The committee meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month. The Committee is responsible for appointing its own secretary to produce agendas and minutes. Miscellaneous Updates
- Homeowner’s Association Liaison: Responsible for attending the monthly meetings of the Burnt Oaks Association and San Fransisco by the Bay. Should report back to Town Hall with any concerns from the associations. Council Liaison – Mickey Hummel
