Are you 18-25 years old? Do you love the Chesapeake Bay? Are you energetic and environmentally focused? If you would like to be a part of a town that creates sustainable programs and events along the Bay, please consider applying to become a Chesapeake Conservation Corps Member. This is a paid internship with the Town of North Beach. Some tasks will include working with stormwater runoff and solar energy; working with our partners on community gardens; working on a healthy initiative program for all ages, assist with marketing of sustainable/healthy events and programs; and creating print and video series about North Beach to educate the community on programs in North Beach. Become a Chesapeake Conservation Corps Member

The Town of North Beach has been granted a host site. You must apply directly for the position here: https://cbtrust.org/chesapeake-conservation-corps/prospective/. You must pick the Town of North Beach and the town must choose the same person for a match to occur.

The Chesapeake Bay Trust anticipates placing 30-35 Corps Members with nonprofit organizations and government agencies throughout the region to work for a stipend-support year of service ($18,000) beginning on August 21, 2018.

Qualifications

  1. Corps Members will be between the ages of 18-25.
  2. Each Corps Member will work at a Host Organization for a period of one year.
  3. Corps Members will participate in at least one conference, five trainings, and three project days within the service year.
  4. Corps Members must complete a capstone project by the end of their service year.
  5. Corps Members must complete at least four site visits at fellow Corps Member’s host sites.

Duties at North Beach

Develop, create and assist with upholding the mission of the town while promoting a healthy, attractive, sustainable North Beach through green initiatives and public education. The Intern will assist in event planning for Plant the Town, America In Bloom and the Farmer's Market. They will assist with other events that happen all year long in the town as well as outreach education and marketing programs.
