Lunch and Learn Series

community conservation

On Friday, May 17, 2019, the Department of Community Conservation kicked off the "Lunch and Learn" series held at Chesapeake's Bounty. Participants celebrated Endangered Species Day with a program about the success of the Endangered Species Act and Conservation programs to restore osprey and eagle populations. The Chesapeake Bay now has over 10,000 pairs of nesting osprey and over 1,000 nesting bald eagles. Both species have been able to be removed from the endangered list which is a great reason to celebrate!
