Press Release

Public Beach Closed

March 18, 2020:  The Town of North Beach continues to monitor and adjust to changing conditions related to COVID-19 Coronavirus. In response to new guidelines set forth regarding social distancing and the recommendation to avoid social gatherings in groups of more than 10 people, the Town of North Beach will close access to the beach effective at sundown this evening, March 18, 2020, until further notice.

In addition, the Town of North Beach strongly advises against gathering at our public parks, including Callis Park, Sunrise Garden and Wetlands Overlook Park. These public parks contain benches, play structures, etc. that are high-touch areas and could potentially be a source of spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus.

In closing, we urge all citizens to wash their hands frequently, cover coughs and sneezes, and separate people who have respiratory symptoms. It is also recommended to disinfect high-touch surfaces and avoid shaking hands. If you or your children are not feeling well, stay home and avoid the elderly and those with compromised immune systems.

To seek additional information on the COVID-19 coronavirus, visit the CDC website, the Maryland Department of health website, and the Calvert County Health Department's website.
