- New tool has officially launched! Wondering which programs your business can apply for? There are several relief programs designed to help combat the negative effects from COVID-19. The Relief Wizard is an easy to use tool to navigate these programs. - The Maryland Small Business COVID-19 Emergency Relief Grant and Loan Funds have closed. Businesses are encouraged to consider applying for the EIDL and PPPL programs. U.S. Department of Treasury Paycheck Protection Program Information Sheet for Borrowers - Check the Status of Your Maryland COVID-19 Loan/Grant: If you submitted an application for the Maryland Small Business COVID-19 Emergency Relief Loan/Grant you can now check the status of your application by signing up for a Maryland OneStop account. Please be sure to use the same email address that was used in your original application. This does not offer updates on federal loan applications. If you signed up for an EIDL loan through the SBA, the confirmation number you received after submitting your loan application confirms that your application was received, and is in the process of being reviewed.
- Employee Retention Tax Credit Guide: https://www.uschamber.com/report/guide-the-employee-retention-tax-credit The tax credit provides businesses with a refundable payroll tax credit for 50% of wages paid by employers to employees during COVID-19. - new MARBIDCO Pandemic Adjustment Loan Fund Now Open: The Maryland Agricultural and Resource-Based Industry Development Corporation (MARBIDCO) has established the Pandemic Adjustment Loan Fund Program to help Maryland’s food and fiber producers, harvesters and primary processors adjust to the business disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program offers low cost loans with flexible terms for working capital or equipment purchases. The maximum individual loan amount is $10,000, and no collateral security is required to be pledged to receive a loan. Applications for the Pandemic Adjustment Loan Fund must be submitted by May 31. The application form is available on the MARBIDCO website at www.marbidco.org. For questions, please call the office at (410) 267-6807.

- Restaurant Workers Community Foundation: A nationwide community dedicated to making the restaurant industry more hospitable to everyone. https://www.restaurantworkerscf.org/ RWCF’s Board of Directors has approved directing funds raised in the follow ways:
- 50% for direct crisis relief to individual restaurant workers.
- 25% for nonprofit organizations serving restaurant workers in crisis.
- 25% for zero-interest loans for restaurants to get back up and running.

- Expansion of Unemployment Insurance Benefits: The federal CARES Act expanded unemployment insurance benefits nationwide, giving access to sole proprietors, independent contractors, and self-employed workers. The Maryland Department of Labor is collaborating with the U.S. Department of Labor to create new IT systems, modify the current platforms, and train staff in order to implement these new programs. Maryland will provide all three expanded unemployment programs: Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA), Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation, and Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation. Upon availability, benefits will be paid back to the earliest date of eligibility. - Small Business Reserve (SBR) Program: Don’t Let Your Business Certification Expire https://emma.maryland.gov/
- The small business community has access to over $400 million in prime contracting opportunities on state-funded contracts through the Small Business Reserve (SBR) Program. SBR certification takes place in the eMaryland Marketplace Advantage (eMMA) platform. Once certified, firms must recertify annually. Firms that do not complete the online recertification process in eMMA by the renewal date are automatically removed from the program and not eligible to receive a designated SBR contract. They must complete the application process again to rejoin the program. If you are certified as an SBR vendor, please visit your eMMA vendor profile to determine your recertification date.
