  3. Community Engagement: Beyond the screenings, the North Beach American Film Festival is committed to fostering connections within the local community. Interactive workshops and events will provide opportunities for attendees to engage with filmmakers and share their own stories and experiences.
  4. Noteworthy Films:
  • "Wine, Women, and Dementia" - The world is facing a crisis as baby boomers age into dementia. The U.S. is no exception with an estimated 9 million Americans living with dementia by 2030. “Wine, Women, and Dementia” brings the audience face to face with the human side of dementia as former dementia family caregiver and filmmaker, Kitty Norton, sets off on an RV adventure to meet other dementia family caregivers throughout the U.S. who virtually provided her with critical support through their shared caregiving experiences.
  • "Sing the Heart of the Magic: A Jennifer L Nelson Story" - Jennifer L. Nelson is a two-time Helen Hayes Award-winner who empowered people in the margins and transformed a coalition of artists into a full-producing theater company. She also launched careers while being a pioneer in hip-hop theater. This mini-doc includes artists, producers, directors, and theater runners reflecting on Jennifer's impact on the DC theater scene.
  • "Windows" - A deaf mute action film following a deaf woman who is betrayed and must fight against those she saw as her family to survive.

The 7th Annual North Beach American Film Festival promises to be a landmark event, showcasing the power of cinema to unite, inspire, and promote understanding. The festival invites filmmakers, artists, and film enthusiasts from all walks of life to come together in celebration of the diverse tapestry that makes up the American narrative.
