Ethics Commission

Chapter 9 of the Code of the Town of North Beach requires the establishment of an Ethics Commission, which is composed of three members appointed by the Mayor. The primary purpose of the Commission is to process and make determinations as to complaints filed by any person alleging financial conflicts of interest (COI) by those elected to, or appointed to, the Town of North Beach or any town agency, board, commission, or similar entity. The Commission's scope is limited to nine categories of financial COI described in the town code that would result in a potential or actual financial benefit to town officials or employees, thus impairing their exercise of independence and judgment in the performance of official town business.
