Today, Mayor Benton presented a check totaling $10,641.04 to the dedicated members of the Ladies of Charity, representing the net proceeds from the 2024 Polar Bear Plunge. Once again, this spirited group actively participated in the event on New Year's Day, contributing their time to volunteer efforts and selling baked goods, spring rolls, hot dogs, bratwursts, hand warmers, and beverages.

The Ladies of Charity have been serving those in need in the community for over 50 years. In January alone, the organization was able to feed 477 families.

The Ladies of Charity Food Pantry, located at 8833 Dayton Avenue in North Beach, is open every Tuesday from noon to 2 pm; the second Wednesday of each month from 5 to 7 pm; and, the last Saturday of the month from 10 am to noon.
