The Department of Public Works (DPW) crews have been out pretreating the roads to prepare for the winter weather that is expected later today and tomorrow. DPW will monitor the snow and will respond accordingly.

* WHAT...Snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches. Northwest winds gusting around 40 mph Saturday.

* WHERE...Cecil-Southern Baltimore-Anne Arundel-St. Marys-Calvert- Southeast Harford Counties.

* WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 1 PM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Temperatures will fall below freezing for most areas during the evening commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling. When venturing outside, watch your first few steps taken on steps, sidewalks, and driveways, which could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.

A Gale Warning is in effect for portions of the waters late tonight.

The Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for portions of the area through midday Saturday.

A Gale Warning is in effect for all waters Saturday into Saturday night.

Dangerously cold wind chills are possible Saturday night.
