...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM TO 7 PM EST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of around an inch with localized amounts around 2 inches.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Maryland and northern and northwest Virginia.

* WHEN...From 4 AM to 7 PM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the Friday morning and evening commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling. When venturing outside, watch your first few steps taken on steps, sidewalks, and driveways, which could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and I-95 corridor through central Maryland, northern Virginia, and District of Columbia.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect 4 AM tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday Winter Weather Advisory continues through Friday evening from the Fredericksburg area to the Washington DC Metropolitan area, and until Friday night for the Baltimore Metropolitan area. The Friday morning commute will be impacted by snow covered surfaces, with snow arriving during the commute and temperatures near or below freezing. The Friday evening commute may be impacted by snow covered surfaces as well.

Gale Warnings go into effect for lower portions of the Tidal Potomac and Chesapeake Bay from late Friday evening until early Sunday morning. A Gale Watch continues for these waters through late Saturday night.

Dangerously cold wind chills are possible Saturday night.
