The Ladies of Charity Need Your Help

Your vote is needed! Help the Ladies of Charity Calvert County build a new Food Pantry in North Beach. The Ladies of Charity entered the Kentucky Fried Chicken Giving Challenge, which required submitting a 30-second TikTok video. You can view the video here. They made it through the first round and are one of eleven organizations that will be awarded $40,000! But, there's more! One of the eleven organizations that made it through the first round has the chance to be awarded an additional $60,000 if voted as the Fan Favorite.

Why do the Ladies of Charity need a new building?

The existing building in North Beach is some 80 years old. Numerous joists are cracked, and the building is unsafe. Since they can no longer have clients and volunteers in the building, they built a shed, acquired a delivery truck, ordered a storage container, and moved all the food outside into these various storage containers. Despite moving the operation outside, the Ladies of Charity continue to provide over 4,000 lbs of food per week to their clients in every type of weather.
