The Town of North Beach will host a public meeting with principals from BayLand Consultants and Designers (BayLand) on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 7 to 9 pm at the Town Hall. The Mayor and Town Council request the presence of town residents and encourage input during this meeting.

BayLand was recently awarded a contract to develop a Compound Flood Action Plan—namely, structural and engineering solutions to relieve the dual impact of coastal and stormwater flooding. During the public meeting on October 20th, BayLand will give a presentation that will discuss the field investigations completed and the main flooding areas identified from initial engineering analyses of the entire town. BayLand will also discuss the next steps for developing the town’s Compound Action Plan.

Residents’ input is needed to pinpoint additional specific areas of concern that are experiencing coastal flooding or drainage issues associated with stormwater runoff. Residents are encouraged to attend the public meeting and share their coastal and stormwater flooding experiences to help identify additional problem areas where improvement measures are needed and to aid in the prioritization of problem areas. Suggestions or comments on how to improve problem areas in town are also welcome.
