Summer Bugfest

Say goodbye to summer with a Bugfest of Fun! You're invited to celebrate all the winged wonders and creepy crawlers that are found at Wetlands Overlook Park. On Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 10 am to 12 pm at the North Beach Nature Center at Wetlands Overlook Park, learn about ladybugs, meet a walking stick, make and take a bug mask, participate in a bug scavenger hunt, and learn about tools to become a Bug Explorer.

  • Mini workshops lead by Calvert Master Gardeners.
  • Learn about Monarch Butterflies and migration.
  • Learn how to make a caterpillar container garden.
  • Learn what plants repel mosquitos and other bugs.
  • Top 10 plants for butterflies.
