Winter Readiness and Snow Removal Plan

December seems like the appropriate time of year to talk about Winter Readiness and to share the Town of North Beach's Snow Removal Plan.

As temperatures dip and winter approaches, staying warm and safe can be a challenge. Winter storms can bring cold temperatures, power failures, and icy roads. To keep yourself and your loved ones safe, you should know how to prepare your home and your car before a winter storm hits. Make a plan, think ahead and utilize suggestions in the helpful Winter Readiness guide at this link.

Prior to snow fall, streets will receive a treatment of salt or chemicals, depending upon forecast conditions. When snow reaches a height of three inches, town staff will begin plowing. The staff will try to maintain two clear lanes on all streets and intersections starting with main accesses to and from town and working outward. Please remember in snow events to use off-street parking, if available, as this is a great help to crews that are trying to clear streets. Once the streets are clear, crews will start clearing parking areas. This will be done while residents are at work or away from the home, which allows crews to be more efficient when parked cars are clear from normal parking areas. Every effort will be made to ensure residents have a safe travel to and from work, etc. For a complete copy of the Snow Removal Plan, click here.
