Senator Jackson's Visit to North Beach
Senator Michael Jackson visited North Beach on November 9, 2023 to see the new 5th Street pump system in action.
On the beach to welcome Senator Jackson were Mayor Benton; Councilwoman Kabler; Director of Public Works, Donnie Bowen; Marketing and Public Relations Administrator, Dawn Richardson; and three members of the Flood Committee, Luke Johnson, Jay Loveless and Carola Wilson.
Led by Mayor Benton, the group took the opportunity to express the Town’s sincere appreciation to Senator Jackson for his support, advocacy and dedicated efforts that were instrumental in securing the resources for the acquisition and installation of the 5th Street pump system.
Senator Jackson was eager to hear about additional locations throughout the town where pump stations and upgrades are needed to further help mitigate flooding.
We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Senator Jackson to enhance the quality of life for all residents of North Beach.
